Shot Is On Live Streaming

Sport, Stories, Community, And Cameras

Shot’s On started in 2022 with one simple idea: provide high-quality, affordable and reliable live streaming for grassroots sports in the UK. Because no one else was filming the sport we loved. Originally, we started by streaming Quadball, formerly Quidditch. We played it, we cared about it, and we wanted to help show off the brilliant community behind it.

What began with Quadball has grown into a sports video and photography production company, covering just about any sport we can get a camera to. Livestreams, match footage, photography, social content, if there’s a game, a team, or a story, we’re interested.

At the heart of what we do is a love for sports that bring people together. We’re especially passionate about covering inclusive communities, emerging sports, and the teams and athletes who don’t always get the spotlight from mainstream media.

Along the way, we’ve also built a social media reach we’re really proud of, averaging 12 million views a month and helping showcase the incredible sports, leagues, and players we get to work with.

I love seeing people succeed, have fun, and find joy in moving. I believe everybody deserves space to play, and I want Shot’s On to help foster and grow any sport that creates that space.

I never thought I’d be into sports when I left high school. As it turns out, I just hadn’t been shown the huge variety of games out there, or the fantastic people who play them.

At university, I started playing quadball almost as a joke, but I quickly fell in love with the sport, the contact, and the community around it. Since then, I’ve found myself wanting to try just about every sport I can.

Over time, I noticed that unconventional sports, especially mixed-gender, LGBTQ+ inclusive, and community-led sports, simply weren’t getting the coverage they deserved. From my 13 years of playing quadball, including time as a national team player, there are only about eight minutes of footage of me playing and around six photos. That always stuck with me. I wanted to make sure other players had something better to look back on.

So I decided to use my experience as a videographer to build a livestreaming system that would allow us to cover almost any sport. After our first year of filming, we realised we weren’t just helping preserve players’ memories. We were also helping these sports grow by showcasing them to wider audiences and introducing new people to the brilliant communities behind them.

Add your second photographer’s personal intro here. This could explain how they got into sport, what they love photographing, and why they enjoy working with the community and inclusive sports.

You can keep this section chatty and personal, just like Sam’s intro. Talk about the sports they play, the moments they love capturing, and what they bring to Shot’s On.

This is also a great place to mention any particular skills they have, such as action photography, livestream camera work, editing, commentary support, social media content, or working with grassroots teams and leagues.
